Timber Processing
City Forests owns approximately 16,100 hectares of renewable plantation forest, most of which is Pinus radiata forest. Of this volume, 40,000m3 of pruned logs will be processed annually at our sawmill and timber processing facility located near Milton, in the South Island of New Zealand.
The facilities at this plant are modern and allow for high quality kiln drying, grading and dressing of our timber products. The Radiata Pine boards that we produce are of high quality and are suited to the appearance market or for clearwood timber remanufacturing into furniture, joinery, mouldings and industrial packaging. Currently City Forests exports to international markets including the USA, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Spain and Australia.
City Forests has good quality controls in place and has gained a reputation for quality and reliability by working with and understanding the expectations of overseas buyers. Being a medium-sized processing plant has also given City Forests the ability to consider specific customer requirements rather than only producing a standard cut.
While the company continues to expand we seek long term relationships with overseas companies that value what City Forests has to offer.
Our range of quality softwood timber products include No 1 Clear, No 2 Clear, Cuttings Grade, Dressing Grade, Cut of Log, and Industrial Grade.
