In the 2016-2017 financial year, City Forests harvested over 277,000 cubic metres of wood from its forests, including 260,000 cubic metres of clearfell sawlog and pulpwood volume, with the remainder being production thinning and firewood. The company is managing its forests at long-term sustainable clearfell levels of between 270,000 and 300,000m3. Radiata pine makes up 81% of the planted forest area, with most of the balance in Douglas fir and cypress. READ MORE
